Poorly marked in a few several locations requiring the use of the app to stay on trail.

The trails in Southgate Park are a lot better than I expected. The goats at the farm are friendly but they were judging me for not sharing my snacks. We’ll definitely come back to wander around the rest of the connector trails that aren’t on the map.

The Boettler Park section is a paved walking trail. That section at least is not the most scenic, but it’s ok for a walking trail.

My first time here. It is beautiful right now with the fall colors and wild flowers. People were taking family photos there. It’s easy and paved. Very busy when I went. I admit I got confused a couple times. The trail is disconnected in spots. You can take your dog on parts of southgate but it was confusing for me because of how trails were. Overall , it is nice but not exactly what I would call a hike. I’m not in a hurry to go back

Walking

Easy walking and accommodates all skill levels. Hardly any signs or markings but everything loops back in together. Nice for an in town daily walking path more than a hike.

Great trail! Could use slightly better marking. Other than that, awesome walk.

Very isolated in the woods. Glad I brought a mask when I hit the kids/parents at soccer practice. All good— fun to watch them. Southgate has poor trail markings but that’s half the fun.

This is a nice trail for all skill levels.Trails are well marked and upkept. Trail goes through a wooded area, field with wildflower view and then on a paved path. You can take a joggling stroller but it is kind of rough. Will be sure to return

Hiking

This is a very beautiful trail with forest, farm, prairie, and lake/pond. In places this trail is very poorly marked. This trail has areas where you can take a dog, but I did not see a way to complete the trail without going through the “no pets” areas. There is part of me that would love to give this five stars because it was so beautiful, but the drawbacks were significant enough for me to rate it much lower.

I tried this trail today. It was great! The west side of the trail, through some wooded parts is washed out and over grown. Totally okay though because the wildlife and greenery was amazing. Definitely want to use your map because there are plenty of paths that will cross over and through.

HikingMuddyOver grown

This was a decent hike/wake. Some trails were overgrown, and muddy. So if you don’t like that, stick to the paved trail. It does cross private property at Southgate trail, takes you behind Twisted Olive, and then passed a small garden. It’s quiet and challenging. Just pay attention to your GPS.

Walking

The Southgate side of the park is very beautiful, scenic, and peaceful. we saw a large family of geese with their babies:)) I would not recommend a stroller on this path since the gravel is very large, there is little to no path signage, and there are several dramatic changes in elevation... We had a great hike with a bit of adventure!
