Big Creek Reservation Lake to Lake Trail is a 5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Cleveland, Ohio that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, nature trips, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
An all-purpose trail that uses Bagley Rd sidewalks for a short bit to complete the route. It runs behind Southwest Hospital near Bagley Rd and crosses over right in front of it. Accessibility: This asphalt, concrete, wooden boardwalk and bridge trail is estimated to typically be at least 7 feet wide. Some of the sidewalk sections along Hepburn Road at the 1.4 mile mark are estimated to be more narrow at 4 feet. The slope is usually mostly gentle to moderately steep between -7% and 7% grade uphill and down. The trail is estimated to range overall from -17% (downhill) to 17% (uphill) grade. There may be a very steep section at the 0.4 mile mark. This area is marked with a waypoint as trail goers using mobility equipment to navigate may need extra assistance here. There are 2 ADA-compliant car parking spots with 2 access aisles at the small and paved trailhead lot.
This is my most local trail that is not an MTB trail also. It is always nice to be in nature. For as much money that was invested in some of it, it's still mediocre to me. perhaps because you see office buildings and urban crossroads. it is not that secluded. I am evaluating this more also on the other parks in the system.
This is a very urban trail but that doesn't mean there isn't some pretty scenery. This paved trail winds through a marsh and some wooded areas but it does go behind some business and, for that reason, there are a few very stinky parts of the trail. Overall not the worst trail but not my favorite.
Peaceful and relaxing. Very scenic through the woods, loved the many bridges.
Lovely area, felt safe. Half of the trail is in grassy areas and woods, the other half is through a neighborhood.
Well-maintained our and back on a two lane paved path. Walkers, joggers, and cyclists. 2.5 miles starting at one lake and ending at another before turning around.
Enjoyed this trail and the many bridges // sections of forest + marshes. Beware it does have some urban sections where you have to cross roads. Also, it should be called lake to marsh trail, as it doesn’t actually access the other lake, but the marshes connected. But, overall - beautiful and nice hike.
Nice paved trail not too much traffic on the trail but you do pop out to cross a busy street. Lot’s of boardwalks and a few bridges. Good information signs throughout. I thought the trail was clearly marked and easy to follow. Abram’s Lake was a heavily grassed and reeded over depression rather than a lake. Pretty nonetheless.
Very poorly marked trail. we followed the green stripes designating the trail as detailed on the map at Southwest Hospital and ended up at Bagley and Big creek Blvd, two miles east of our starting point. making our "short" 1.5 mile walk with our two year old grandson a grueling trek for all of us. We never saw the lake, which was our whole reason for going. Someone needs to put some signs up and create a map that makes sense. Very poorly thought out. We are veteran hikers with over 50 years experience on trails all over the country and have never had problems like this before.
I gave this a three star because I am sure some people would like this trail, but not me. The trail is nice, but all paved. I prefer to be in the woods on dirt. I prefer hiking shoes to be recommended. This is a running and biking trail. Lots of traffic from joggers and people riding bikes. Again, maybe this will appeal to some people, but not me. I made it a mile in before I lost interest. I turned around and never finished.
