Nice trail for my kids and I even though we decided to go in the rain, my youngest was able to walk the entire thing without having to be carried.

Favorite of the 4 trails at MWF. Take the outer loop...it’s definitely worth it

Beautiful well-maintained trail. Perfect for my 4yo and 6yo who walked the whole thing. They loved all the bridges and fallen logs to climb on. The younger two rode in carriers.

I brought my six year, he loved it. No to easy were he wouldn't get bored but not to difficult that he would whine it or not be able to complete.

Very moderate and semi-challenging walk for newbies. A few bridges that makes great photo-op. Muddy and slippery from morning downpour and fallen leaves.

Muddy due to rain but otherwise a very nice trail. Well maintained and moderate difficulty. Outer loop is certainly the way to go! Nice trail for dogs.

Nice trail not far from an urban setting.

Popular trail for dog walkers, some decent hills. Most of the path is rocky with tree roots. In the winter it gets icy and a bit hard to manage. Nice simple less than 2 mile hike.

Nice trail, my favorite of the three sharing the parking area. Well maintained. I recommend the full outer loop for its wandering path up and down small hills and over small streams. Outer loop features more roots and dirt on the trail, so footfalls are a little quieter than the gravel sections.

A nice trail. I’d rate it between easy and moderate. There are hills, but they aren’t too bad. You’ll walk on gravel, dirt (some tree roots in various places), and wooden bridges. You have 2 options in the trail where you can do a shorter inner loop or a longer outer loop. Overall a nice hike. There are restrooms in the parking area for before or after your hike.

The hill down to the pond I would consider moderate. This would be a good hike for kids 5 and up. Take some time to watch for turtles, listen for frogs and check out a Beaver dam up close.

Love this trail; well maintained, well marked trail. If you're an early riser you may see several deer.

Hiked this trail with my husband, 3 year old, and 16 month old. It was perfect for us. The beginning (inner loop) was easy so baby could toddle and wear him self out. My husband carried baby in a pack through the harder back half. We got our exercise in the back half with hillier terrain. 3 year old made it through the whole hike with just a few minutes of piggy back riding. Bridges, hills, fallen trees, slugs, mushrooms, and toads gave the trail lots of interest. Shaded the whole way through. Bathrooms with running water right at trail head. Great family hike.

I've hiked this trail numerous times. If the trail, Miami Shaker Trace, is considered moderate, then this trail must also be considered moderate. Of the four trails shown in Miami Whitewater Forest park, the Miami Shaker Trace trail is the easiest. Don't forget the Miami Shaker Trace is paved.

Great family hike. Kids managed well but we're happy to see the steps leading to the road. **This is listed as "easy" but I would say it is more moderate.

Well maintained with open forest views. Mostly easy with a few strenuous hills. There is a cut through midway if you want a shorter hike.

Located in Miami Whitewater state park. There are other trails in the park but Badlands is my favorite. Trail is very well maintained.. would rate difficulty as easy. Great place to hike!

Nice trail through forest. You can hike the short loop or a longer loop. Both is nice. If you are an avid hiker, nice easy trail, if you are just getting started, this has some easy elevation changes to for a beginner.
