This trial is closed due to pandemic. There are recent reviews making it seem as if it’s doable but they have the parking area closed. Rockbridge has several hiking options that are open.

Short and super easy. Paved path to the cave/waterfall. You can go up the stairs and hike the rim trail on the way out for a bit more of a challenge. We’ve done this trail numerous times because the kids love it. The “waterfall” has always had at least a little bit of a flow. Floor of the cave is super sandy and the kids enjoy making drawings in the sand with sticks.

Super popular but easy hike. Easy to get pretty photos here. Got one of our best pictures the entire trip of this waterfall right here, with the pro cam.

Kinda icy. Once you got to the top of the cave the trail was roped off so I’m not sure if it was closed. Back tracked down . Still a nice trail close to home

VERY glad we stopped - great example of what can be seen on the park trails. Fast, easy, paved path and/or steeper ridge path if preferred (as a loop option we entered and walked back into the overhang on the paved path and exited using the ridge path for a different look and feel). Parking, bathrooms, benches...way too convenient to not stop and have a quick look. (Mid October, by far the busiest trail we saw). 4/5 stars only because it felt to me like more of a roadside site-seeing spot than a trail.

A short, easy walk to the cave. We returned on the rim trail. My kids loved it so much that we did it on back to back days. They even built a "castle" with the sand in the cave.

this is by far the best of hocking hills. my rating isn't a 5 solely because of people: lack of respect for nature (getting in the water) and screaming (kids, but mostly adults)

Another awesome short trail. We chose to take the rugged trail and not the paved trail.

Great short hike for children. It also is sandy and has a lot of little boulders they can climb around on that are within the pedestrian area of the cave.

Beautiful easy walk in and back. Handicap accessible, fully paved trail as well as a more energetic hike type trail. In and out walk. Nice water fall into a pool at the center of an amphitheater type overhang. Too many people ignoring the no wading/swimming signs as if it were a swimming hole (blankets, folding chairs, towels, etc.) Would love to see the falls after a heavy rain. Must be spectacular.

Short- less that 45 min round trip. Nice cave-like feature with trickling waterfall at the end. Crowded.

Great short, easy trail! Good for anyone not just those that hike! Beautiful area and drive to the trail! I would recommend going in the morning or evening because it was very crowded midday.
