HikingGreat!

Orange trail was great. I went off trail a bit, went to chapel cave, the falls then headed to airplane rock. The whole loop is a lot of up and down, lots of mud, so wear some good hiking shoes!

HikingGreat!

Chapel cave and twin falls were beautiful, but don’t bother hiking the back side.

First half was amazing! The twin falls and cave were a must see. So amazing. The back half not that exciting. Lots of mud, horse crap, and the views were not that great.

Got a little off trail. Good rock scenery left on the fork, but then not much scenery.

Pretty muddy still, but an awesome trail!! Ended up with 5.6 miles, and the extra mileage was worth it. The side trails are very easy to find and have some really cool views

6.2 mi total (16,872 steps & 29 stair cases) with all the permissible off-trail exploring. Beautiful all the way around with several muddy sections where horses have been, but very manageable with a hiking stick to assist. Passed a couple horse groups who were all very friendly. Definitely a mid-high moderate trail with changes in scenery, trail width & type, and elevation. We hiked counterclockwise, which upon reflection we felt offered the most appreciation for the views, and helped to not miss any marked & must see off trails. *No matter which way you go around the loop, it is UP HILL the last 1/2-3/4 of a mile.

This was a good hike for our first one in Hocking Hills. Heavily trafficked horse trail but the orange blazes were well marked to follow the trail. The off shoots to see the “highlights” were confusing at first glance, but after located the rock, the caves, the waterfall, etc, the trails made sense.

beautiful hike. the trail was well maintained but muddy in parts. we took our standard poodle and she did great. a lot of room since it's also a horse trail. lots of horse poo to dodge but a great trail otherwise.

HikingGreat!

Great hike with a lot to see-rock formation, water falls and neat cave. We started the hike counterclockwise. Several hills to climb but on a wide horse trail to start which is blazed orange. Make sure u venture off to the white blazed trees so you don’t miss Airplane Rock, Twin Falls and Chapel Caves. No sign to any of them. We just kept our All Trail app open and didn’t have any trouble finding them. The horse trails weren’t horribly muddy today. Ended up being about 6.5 miles total taking in all the sites we added some toys to the rock formations by the falls. Please bring some to add to it!! We’ve hiked several trails that are doing this

Really enjoyed this trail! There was a group of horses that was fun to see. Traffic was a little heavy and was very muddy in some parts. But that is just part of the adventure. Will be back in the fall!

This trail had tons of rock formations, caves, waterfalls and vistas. I hiked this one on 3/20/2021, so the stream crossing was almost to the top of my boot. What made the loop nice is the 2.5 mile Conkell's Hollow trail is right beside it. This makes it easy to extend your day. Another big plus is having Billy Bob's Burgers and Beer about a mile down the road after your done! I would have given this loop 5 stars if it weren't a horse trail.

Under rated- make the effort to take the white trail off of orange to get to twin falls and chapel cave. Great hike with no crowds like Old Mans Cave

Muddy but a cool trail. We started up off Hockman Rd and headed south at the first split in the trail. This leg was by far the best of the trail. Chapel Cave is stunning.

HikingGreat!IcyMuddy

A beautiful loop through the woods! We hiked this on Monday and it was still a bit muddy, but seemed to be drying up. Some ice was present first thing in the morning before the sun warmed up, but was all but gone by the time we finished. Trail was very quiet and great for going with the dogs. We would definitely do this route again.
