Had a nice picnic with my gf and new born son overlooking the unbelievable view. Amazing!

Most amazing view I’ve seen on the East Coast.

Amazing view. We took Kistlers memorial highway from the Linville Falls entrance and followed the signs. From the parking lot it’s a short walk to spectacular cliff views of Table Rock, Hawksbill and Sitting bear.

Easily walked paved trail, perfect for the whole family.
Road is rough and steep in some spots to get there though.

Great spot to experience Linville gorge if you aren't up for a hike. Very short walk and amazing views of the southern gorge. Tons of parking and outhouse available. No camping though.

NOT a bad drive to the top. There are "regular" cars up here too. GORGEous views!!!!

Incredible view but the road up was like the surface of the moon. Lots of huge holes and giant rocks sticking out everywhere that left me with a leak in one tire. Do not recommend going up in anything but a 4wd vehicle!

Not a hike but great view regardless. You can see Hawksbill, Table Rock and Shortoff on the other side of the gorge. I'd imagine it gets pretty busy in the summer.

Not a hike, but the views are amazing. Best time to go is fall, with gorgeous views of the foliage and linville gorge. Also the brown mountain lights can be seen from here at night. The best time of year to see them are also fall I have heard. I have seen them a few times myself! So strange!

Quick and easy. Not really a hike, since the path is paved and very gently sloped. The views up and down Linville Gorge are spectacular.

I am not rating this trail on the hike itself but on what awaits you when you get to the end of the short paved trail. It is just an awesome sight to view this beautiful Gorge from such a vantage point! I will definitely go back and take people with me! I might mention that the 4 mile ride on the dirt/gravel road is pretty tough and hard on your vehicle, just take it easy. There are lots of other wonderful trails of the access road.

A short walk to two amazing lookout points nearly 1500 feet above the Linville River and the deepest gorge in the eastern US. It is also a stunning vantage point for Hawksbill Mountain and Table Rock. Not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway, head south from Linville Falls, NC and take a gravel Rt. 1238 for about four miles. For the most part it was not in bad shape during my visit in April, but I imagine it can be difficult after bad weather. It is definitely worth it though for that unbelievable view!

Short, paved, handicap accessible trail to the rim of the Linville Gorge. A great place to get an amazing view of the Gorge. I recommend driving in from the north end of old 105. The road can be in very bad condition, especially following heavy rains or snow.
The trail takes you right to the top of a cliff with open views down the gorge. Table Rock and Hawksbill mountains are just across the gorge from the viewpoints at the trail end.

Great views after a long drive on a dirt road in bad condition. The trail is short and easy.

This is the most beautiful view I have ever seen! The height is unreal, and it is definitely worth the long dirt road drive up. It's a short walk which can be a good thing too!
