A very nice park; mostly paved trails. There is a short trail through the woods and a couple places to wander off trail. The nature center has very friendly staff and many activities available for children. I took my 5 yr old nephew there for a scavenge hunt. A great place to bring kids, but not for hiking solo or with adults.

All paved trails, this is a great place to escape to the woods on the outskirts of Raleigh. Clean restrooms at both parking lots. Safe, clean and family/pet friendly.

Smelled horrible. Despite the pretty setting, the trail is basically follow the manholes.

Not my cup of tea. This park is full of paved trails in open spaces. We completed the 3 colored trails in what seemed like minutes. Better off skipping this one. This is for kids, moms with strollers, and people in the neighborhood walking their dogs.

Nice spring day at the combined Benson Lake and White Deer Parks. Mostly flat, paved walking trail, it's a big park for lots of activities. Playgrounds, walking trails, open fields, interpretive trails, discovery spaces, a nature center, shelters, a veterans memorial, and lake views. Was a great day for a 3 mile stroll around both park areas.

Nice Nature Center to start the hike. There were markers with information thru out the hike, but you have to go on line to use them, a staff member told me that but didn't know exactly what website.
There was a couple playgrounds that helped break up the walk for my three year old. Had benches enough to enjoy the sights and sounds, or to take a breather.
