Hiked from Jumping off Rock to the peak of Little Long Mountain. Please note that the trailhead at the parking area takes you the opposite way of Little Long Mountain - you need to exit the parking lot to the left, walk down the road and pick up the trailhead after you cross the creek and cross the road. The trail will eventually run along a creek. Be sure to filter and fill up your water bottles prior to ascending up the trail to the mountain top. The only good views are from the mountain top. I wasn't able to camp as it was already occupied by a few other campers. There's not a whole lot of room at the top so I decided to make this one a half-day trip.

Not a bad trail. The rolling hills make it moderate but nothing crazy on this trail. Scenic view is trees and that’s pretty much it. Trail path is a one way if you run into any other hikers going the opposite way. Three parts of the trail were washed out but you can navigate around. Had my dog off leash with no issues.

Wonderfully blazed trail, well maintained. Overall a nice walk in the woods.

Nice variety of terrain. My favorite area of the Uwharrie that I've done so far.

Enjoyed a beautiful February day on this section of the Uwharrie Trail. Very well marked and maintained. The terrain varied from hills decorated with beautiful quartz rock to nice shaded sections of trail beneath the pines. The Eagle’s Nest provided a convenient rest stop once we reached the summit of Little Long Mountain. Enjoyed a fantastic 360 view of the surrounding mountains at this point in our hike. As the trail descended it crossed Poison Fork....a scenic section of water rolling over a rocky creek bed. Not overly strenuous but definitely a good workout! Looking forward to doing it again!!

Steep and rocky in spots but easy even with small dogs. Nice cluster or eclectics at summit.
