Easy and short walk that connects you from the visitors center to both the Fern Trail and the Lake Trail.

I agree with the others that this is an easy trail and not moderate. Scenic forest and stream views. Beautiful and wonderful in all seasons except summer. In summer, this becomes THE most humid trail you've ever been on. Because of tge stream and so much canopy, the humidity is not only trapped and stays, but gets amplified. You'd think because it was so shaded it would be cooler. Not at all. We are both in our early 30s and very fit and this trail in the summer is grueling. Again, wonderful and gorgeous in all other seasons for families and pets alike! Just avoid summer. The nature trail in Kings is much cooler in the summer.

I removed one star only because I would rate this trail "easy" instead of moderate. This is a nice trail for family hiking if not looking for anything strenuous. Or if you're looking for a nice walk instead of a tough hike, this is the trail for you. I've only done it once just because I prefer the hard trails. But overall it's still a nice trail.

The trail is wide and doesn't have the rocks and roots that the Pinnacle Trail has on it. We went up the Pinnacle Trail but came back to the visitor's center via the Turnback Trail and it was mostly downhill or flat with a few very short climbs. It would be a better trail to take to Pinnacle Point if you had trouble with roots or rocks. It was also less crowded than the Pinnacle Trail. There are no spectacular views on this trail.
