At the parking lot, cross the bridge and follow the clearly marked trail upstream and along the rivers edge. At about a third of one mile is the very scenic Triple Falls There is a trail that takes you to the middle of the 3 step falls. Extreme caution should be used in this area as well as any other trail near waterfalls in DuPont State Forest. At about the 1 mile mark the trail either continues to follow the river or veers right up the hill. For this hike stay left and continue to follow the river. This trail will bring you to the base of High Falls. Rock-hop across the base of the falls and proceed up the trail to the over-look for nice views. Proceed west and then turn left on the gravel road which crosses the top of the falls under a covered bridge. After a short distance turn left and follow the trail north along a nicely wooded trail until it ends at a large parking area for horse trailers. Cross the highway and take the Holly Trail to Hooker Falls: L to parking.

I'll preface this by saying I did not do the exact route shown here on AllTrails but rather opted to do a similar (but much longer 6.4 miles) route portrayed in a trail guide book. Needless to say I was able to see 4 different waterfalls. Was the perfect trail to do on a sunny fall afternoon with my dog. Trail was a bit busy up to the 2nd waterfall with hikers but after that we pretty much had the trail to ourselves along with a few bikers. Scenery got much less exciting after the 2nd waterfall as you are basically just following a DNR road but would do again if given the opportunity. Aside from being much more crowded than the Pisgah Forest trails we had done previously there is nothing negative I can say about this loop/trail. Not suggested to bring small kid as distance might be too much (unless you modify to in-n-out).

I would recommend this trial for anyone wanting great views and beautiful sights of waterfalls. It’s a dog friendly trail. The trail is well kept with a few rocky areas. It took us two hours to complete and we viewed the covered bridge and three waterfalls, High Falls, Triple Falls, and Hooker Falls.

This trail was the perfect difficulty and length for my parents. Not too tough but still a good little track. Really pretty waterfalls and greenery.

Super easy! Great for children. Heavy traffic and it’s pretty impossible to find parking on a weekend. The falls are beautiful.

Gorgeous waterfalls. Quite a workout if you do the entire trail, since there's some decent elevation change (at least if you're semi out of shape like me). Very busy on a Sunday.

triple falls is suck a pretty falls so bring a good camera. everything about this whole area is wonderful. you have more than 3 falls near by (hooker, triple & high falls). driving rt 64 is so much fun. the Pisgah Forest is a hikers and waterfall chaser paradise. if you're going in the summer months looking glass falls and sliding rock falls are near by. bring your swimmies for sliding rock falls.

Mixed easy to moderate hike with nice vistas. Well marked with staired platform at the base of the falls. Good canopy for a cooler hike. Access from large parking lot on DuPont Road or from a Park Station further up. Both have facilities.

Great easy hike, plenty of side trails to get into if you want to make it an all day event. The falls are beautiful and you can get right up to them (a little dangerous without the right shoes and experience). Great picture opportunities. All in all a wonderful experience for the whole family.

If you enjoy waterfalls, do this hike! When you arrive, drive through the parking lot right off the highway to the upper parking lot...it’s easier to use the facilities. Highly recommend taking a detour off the recommended trail and go to the bottom of High Falls: on the map the trail is called River Bend Trail. The detour to the Covered Bridge was not really worth it. We went on a Friday morning in Sept and it was fairly busy but the trails are wide so it never felt cramped. We even met some llamas!

The hike was great, however the written description doesn’t match the actual loop. We ended up hiking over 5 miles.

awesome three tier falls, but may be a little bit hard to see all of it on a thick leafy summer day.

This was a great hike but it was a cold fall day. We did the high falls overlook trail first, then took the river bend trail all the way to high falls trail which eventually got us to triple falls. It was beautiful and the trails were well maintained. If you have time, take a detour to see the High Falls covered bridge which sits on top of High Falls.

How is this even listed as a hike? Wide gravel roads? If you're looking for a swim amongst hundreds of vacationers, this is the walk for you. But it hardly qualifies as a hike.

Nice, easy hike with waterfalls along the way. Nothing too strenuous. Pretty busy trail though.
