The gate to the parking lot is closed off you so have to park at the gate and walk about 1.3 miles to the parking area where the trailhead is. The walk on the road is a bit steep. The actual trail is filled with incredible views and beautiful scenery! I’d love to check it out during sunrise.

The road is gated 1.3 miles from the picnic area, so add 2.6 miles to your hike out and back. I did not know and arrived too late for a hike.

Epic hike through the snow! The road leading to the parking lot is closed to motor vehicles, so you’ll have to hoof it to the main parking lot. Otherwise, the hike was amazing! Lots of great views!

HikingGreat!

This trail is difficult to complete because every few steps, you have to stop to take in the views! The short hike offers a lot of pay off for not a lot of work. One of the busier trails in the Linville Gorge area, but also one of the most beautiful.

Probably one of the best ridge hikes I’ve done so far. The views were incredible. You can go as far as you want before turning back to the Table Rock parking lot. There are rocks that you have to scramble across. There also a few icy and muddy patches as well.

This was our first effort to go down Chimney Branch to the Linville River. There is no trail here and by the end of it we were both sliced and cut up.

Quick trek to a tremendous 360* panorama. Some enjoyable rock scrambles off the trail.
