Park road closed at first overlook due to ice so I walked up the road and then did the short summit trail to the top.
Very enjoyable trail. Disappointed that we hiked it after peak time for the leaves, but still a fun hike that was challenging for me, but not too much. The views were great. I will say I expected more of a plateau at the top from other reviews I had read. We began at sunrise overlook. There were a ton of leaves, so we had to keep our eyes open for roots and rocks. I’d do it again for sure.
Hiked this in the pouring rain with our three grade school kids. Even though we couldn’t see anything at the outlooks, the plant life was beautiful.
From the park office take the mtn ridge trail up to the top. Take the spur to sunset overlook either on the way up or the way back down. Then walk the rest of the trails. Great little picnic area. You can also just drive to the top to walk the trails.
