Very nice day hiking up to the top of Morrow Mountain, weather was nice, only thing was smoke was still in the air coming up from the trail head. Lot of people at the top, entire families having fun and eating at the picnic tables provided by the park. Very nice people at the information office. Definitely recommend.
Great trail! The Morrow Mtn leg is a pretty steep climb but the view at the overlook is worth it. The Sugarloaf section is more rugged and also very steep, there’s no overlooks there but still some nice views through the trees.
Waterproof shoes are a lifesaver with all the mud on parts of the trail. Otherwise a great hike, well marked and easy to follow. Take the loop around the peak, it's worth it.
Nice trial. The final half mile was a big push uphill. The road goes right to the top as well so it was more crowded than I like, but it was nice to have a bathroom and picnic tables at the top. We added the little mountain top loop which was my favorite part. Beautiful views!
Nice trail, a little muddy at the start and a pretty good incline to the top of the peak. Well marked and easy to follow.
Scary part of the mountain in the sugarloaf loop. Don’t go counterclockwise (right at the loop). Got left and go up and then turn around.
The beginning of the trail can be pretty muddy, but the rest of the trail is fairly well maintained. It’s pick your poison as to whether you go clockwise or counter clockwise up Morrow Mountain. If you go counter clockwise it can get kind of steep and whoever carved that rail forgot what switchbacks are. I can’t see going down that pitch as being easy either if you chose to go clockwise.
Well marked, nice views, no other people on a weekday. Not too strenuous either. highly recommend!
