HikingGreat!

Don’t follow the Apple Maps directions thru this app...it takes you to the end of a neighborhood. The actual physical address is 15700 THOMPSON RD. Trail is wonderful!! Marked well throughout. Natural surroundings. We saw 15 deer on our hike. Well covered from the sun. Wide enough to walk side by side! Will definitely revisit

HikingGreat!

Beautiful trail! Fairly wide and flat, with an even surface and hardly any rocks or roots to navigate around. The trails were dry today, but we could see how muddy they've been recently. Ranging from mixed hardwoods to pines, there are lots of spots to stop and look for birds, even if the sounds of I-485 are intrusive in a few places. This will be a fun trail to explore in every season. Bonus: the nature center will be opening soon and the landscaping features look very cool!

Extremely well marked, but rather muddy in spots despite a four day absence of rain. Boots > shoes

Great walk in the woods! Took my 8 month old out on this trail in a carrier (trail is unpaved and definitely not stroller friendly). The trail was flooded right at the beginning before the bridge, and was a little muddy in a few other spots on the trail. Would recommend a waterproof hiking shoe if hiking in the winter or spring. This is an awesome spot to go and feel like you are out in nature (even if you can hear 485). We even saw a deer - so fun!

Had fun with my son and dog. A little muddy in spots, but still enjoyable. It’ll be even better once they’ve completed everything.

HikingGreat!Muddy

Great trail. Good scenery, the trail is well marked, and no major rocks and roots like some of the traditional mountain biking trails in the area. The only cons were some missing trail markers at the end of the paved trail and excessive mud at the beginning of the non-paved trail near the bridge, but overall, this trail was excellent. We will be back!

WalkingGreat!

I didn’t get to see many of the trails because I did t want my dog to get muddy, but I can tell I’m going to love walking, rucking, running, and mountain biking on these trails. Thank you Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks and Recreation Department!!
