Mostly wooded, looks like it gets very little traffic but not at all overgrown. Lovely short walk with just a bit of ups and downs.

Pretty good incline at beginning of trail. Footbridge when you enter the trail was very shakey but there were bad rapids under it. Trail was muddy and slick when we went. Saw turkeys, nice quiet walk.

Did the trail counter-clockwise. Steep incline for half the trail then down hill the rest of the way. Crosses two fun and unique bridges. Very little wildlife but the sound of water nearby is very relaxing.

Nice short hike. Steep climb. You will appreciate hiking boots and poles. Long log bridge over creek. Near end of loop, counterclockwise as the trail signs point, look for the remains of a huge chestnut tree on the left of trail.

GREAT Family trail. My daughter (7yo) wanted to do it twice in a row. It’s the perfect quick trail of you are staying at Smokemont campground. Decent incline once to cross the river but it evens out and is gentle on the way down.

Great family hike. Mine hiked it and liked it. Kids were 6 and 9. Overall safe but at the top there are sketchy drops parents might want to helicopter in near their youngest as they pass by.
