This is a very easy trail that anyone could hike. The swimming hole is gorgeous. In the summer, if you can go on a weekday morning you can avoid most of the crowds.

Hiking

We had already hiked Devil’s Courthouse and Graveyard Field/Upper Falls. We we’re exhausted but this hike was worth it all. We were able to do a 10 ft cliff jump which was a definite highlight for our kids. Deep the beautiful scenery and waterfalls we had already seen, this was a “do not miss” stop. It reminded me of other hikes we have done in Hana, Hawaii on Maui. Breathtaking!!!

Less than a ten minute walk to the falls. The other pull over nearby is a bit longer. Great spot, freezing water, a couple of spots to jump. Came back twice because the water felt great after hiking Cove Creek and Candy Bottom (4.5 mi). Lots of trails and lookouts on the way so it’s a great spot. Got a little busy but everyone was friendly and kept their distance.

beautiful swimming hole but was extremely crowded even on a weekday. definitely wear your hiking shoes as there are many rocks and roots on this trail. I took my dog but would not reccomend it as the trail is very tight and difficult to move out of others' way.

Great trail to hike and spend the day exploring. Well maintained! 10/10. Very populated so I decided to turn around and take a different path I found last year that not many people know of. Best way to social distance is to take the path less traveled and explore the cool “pools” for a quick dip.

Lots of small pools to wade in, some to swim. Easy hike in. Severely overcrowded, no social distancing whatsoever to the point of rudeness. Went early on a weekday, 200 people jockeying for space before we left

Easy trail, with a great waterfall and swimming area at the end. I suggest you go around 6-7, as there is still daylight and nobody else was there.

great quick hike, especially if you're looking for a swim. muddy with a lot of wet rocks. theres a section with stair and one or two were broken. you can climb to as many pools of water as you want, just be aware of your footing

pretty swimming spot. not a long hike in, but the impact on knees going down was pretty bad. lots of people. it's a nice place to check out, but I won't be returning.

Maybe I wasn’t impressed with this spot because I am used to more epic locations. But it’s a cool spot to bring your family and kids. Easy walking down to the creek.

Very easy trail to some great falls. You can explore up the river to find excluded areas and large boulders to hang out on and get away from the crowds

I wouldn’t consider this much of a hike but more like a short walk down to the falls. There’s a rock that many people jump off of and there’s plenty of room to explore the falls. This does tend to get very busy during the summer, and last time I was here sadly people left trash and beer cans laying around. Please pick up after yourself! Great family place.

Tuesday, 06/02/2020 Beautiful. Originally went to look at the Dragon Tree (suggested by a friend) and elected to do the hike as a detour from the days plans. So. Pretty. Worth every minute of a detour. Whoever said “don’t go chasing waterfalls” has clearly never been surrounded by forest and waterfalls. Complete serenity.

Easy hike. If its cloudy up at that elevation it's hard to drive there. Pretty cool, like a playground. I imagine it with more people on a sunny day on the weekend.

The trail has lots of rocks and steps. The waterfall is decent. But it’s super crowded with people swimming and playing loud music. Just not your typical peaceful awe inspiring nature scene.

According to Blue Ridge Parkway site, it is open. seems almost all of parkway is open, as are the falls. A few areas seem closed, but very few.
