Off the beaten path trail with views and waterfalls.
A little muddy and not very well marked. Be sure and download offline map as there is almost no cell service. I recommend taking the loop counter clockwise so the payoff off the falls is near the end. Beautiful scenery along the way!
Definitely study the map beforehand - we used AllTrails pro and it was very useful to follow the trail!! Decided to take a few shortcuts and add length at the end - ended up doing some major scrambling when we went off this particular route. Terrain is amazing and constantly changing - somewhat muddy in spots. Excited to explore more of Panthertown Valley!
We had a great hike on a rainy day in March. The recent rain made the waterfalls gorgeous! There were 3 or 4 points that were almost impassable - luckily we had taller boots on. Our dog did great on this trail - we hardly saw any other people at all. Mildly rugged terrain with lots of tree roots to grip onto, just have to be careful of your footing. Tranquility point was hard to find, but worth working to.
We set out with intentions to do the entire loop but turned around at the overlook. We had cell service the entire time and even used all trails to take a path less traveled than ended up in crossing a creek by foot! Turn left at the head of the loop, you’ll get to see a lot along the way!
The trail is certainly tough on the feet. Be prepared for water on the trail and a couple of water crossings on rocks. Some muddy/muck areas Certainly worth the views and take a picnic for the top of Little Green Mountain. Not a single person on the trail today.
A bit muddy in places but was an easy hike. But as others have posted, the first 1/4 mile or so had lots of exposed roots on the trail making for easy trip hazards
A great hike! Would recommend going left when you enter the loop and the first waterfall spot is gorgeous. Definitely icy at a few parts but nothing we couldn’t manage carefully if we took our time. Only passed a few folks but we were excited to witness a wedding at Tranquility Point from afar.
Apparently I have done this hike before but forgot because I didn't record it. Doh! Anyhoo, it is a lovely trail with a nice swimming spot and an awesome overlook picnic area. Obviously less crowded in the winter.
Very scenic trail. Diverse forests, waterfalls and Mountain View’s. Pretty wet and icy though, which made things interesting in spots.
December. Pretty dry trails- still mud in low spots. Easy walking.
