Park at Mill Bridge Nature Park. Walk down from the parking lot and turn left to follow the Sanford Creek Greenway. The first part is paved before the next section comprises a long boardwalk before becoming paved again. At Marshall Farm Street, the next section of the Sanford Creek Greenway commences, crossing under Forestville Road and skirting around the sports fields by Heritage Lake Rd. After crossing a bridge, the greenway turns right starting a new section called Smith Creek Greenway. This continues past Heritage Lake Middle and Elementary School before crossing under Rogers Road. A short while later, it skirts past Smith Creek Soccer Complex to the right . The next and last section is Dunn Creek Greenway which currently terminates by the NC-98. The intersection with Heritage Lake Road is easily seen from the greenway. Retrace steps back to Mill Bridge Nature Park.

A nice and easy bike ride with mostly walkers and runners on this trail. None of the Neuse River Trail Bikers on this trail, which made things even nicer. They travel too fast for anyone else to enjoy that trail. It was really nice to see how many friendly people on this route went out of their way to say hello or hi. :) I guess Heritage does have friendlier people. Oops.

Overall good trail although for most of the long stretches there is no shade so plan accordingly

The Town of Wake Forest has done a real nice job of creating a neighborhood recreational connector to biking, hiking, open fields and playgrounds. Nice paved and boardwalk path great for walking, biking, enjoying the outdoors. Start on the Sanford Creek Greenway at the Winslet Road entrance and then to the Smith Creek Greenway and on to Dunne Creek to the end at the Ledgerock Road entrance for your return trip. Check your app through the tunnel, as I lost signal and had to restart the app. Lots of families and dog-walkers. Enjoy!

I live near this trail and walk and bike on it all the time if you want something harder for biking you can go to sheetz and use that entrance on the right side and then you go down that hill and take a left then keep going straight till you see a sign that says future smith creek greenway and then you’ll see a few big rocks and go there and there is a off-road trail for bikes

Very much enjoyed this trail for the first time today. Saw about 8 beautiful Mallard ducks. We didnt do the whole trail, just from the parking area to under the bridge at Rogers rd (about 3 1/2 miles). Great for running. No tripping over roots. Well paved and has doggie bags and trash cans to keep it clean.

I love this trail! I have walked on it several times now from the Heritage neighborhood and it is a beautiful shaded path. There is a pretty pond with a bench to take a rest, and I've found Lime bikes to rent along the way each time. Recommend it!

This was amalgation of 3 greenways starting from Mill Bridge Nature Park on the Sanford Creek Greenway, through to the Smith Creek Greenway and the Dunn Creek Greenway.
