Beautiful Waterfall. Easy and short hike on flat ground for the majority of the trail. We brought our 10, 7, and 5 year old. When you get closer to the Waterfall there are some tree roots that are across the path so you will need to watch your step and not trip over them. You can enjoy putting your feet in the water and swim a little if there's no one else there. It's a small area of water at the base of the waterfall. We brought a small picnic lunch and a blanket to sit on. There are some logs to sit on also. We got there around noon and it wasn't crowded at all. More than 3 groups would be starting to get crowded in this small area. You can also hike further up to the top but it's like climbing a ladder and pulling yourself up. Very strenuous. Little to no bugs. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend!

Easy hike with surprisingly good payout. Phenomenal walk with kids. Watch for seasonal wild berries. You can follow some slipshod trails to the top of the falls. Be careful - it's all real slick.

Nice easy walk up a Forest Service Road to a beautiful falls. There are abundant fresh water snails in the pools below the falls so you should be careful if entering the pools. On the walk up the Forest Service road you will pass two abandoned concrete buildings that were used to store explosives. Parking at the trail head is limited and you have to be careful not to block the gate into a maintenance yard.

Great falls and mostly level path. We went farther than the falls and the views were terrific.

Beautiful waterfall! I was anticipating more of a hike into the waterfall, but this hike is excellent for a short trip with kids. The hike in is a all 4 wheel drive road, until you get to the base of river. The hike into the falls is a easy hike until you get to the base of the falls. This waterfall was beautiful! Wish it was summer so I could have taken a deep into the pool area at the base!

Great add on trek if you're hitting Green Knob Firetower or Setrock Creek Falls. There is parking for about 5-7 cars at the trailhead. The trail is a gravel road, with only minor elevation gain, so very easy for just about anyone. The falls are beautiful and the rocks at the base make great places for photos.

Nice stroll to the falls. Harder climb up right side of falls, especially after a day of rain.

I think this is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in western North Carolina. While the view from the base is really nice the view you get from the top is spectular.

The view from the bottom is beautiful enough. Still take the trail along the right side to the top of the falls. The view is even more spectacular. There are actually two trails to the top of the falls.

The trail to the base of the falls is basically a gravel road, and so it's very easy for reasonably mobile people The falls itself is awesome! There are paths to the top of the falls with several places along the way to climb out onto the rocks for unique perspectives. These trails traverse roots and slick rocks that require more attention to detail. Plenty of good photo opportunities at Roaring Fork. Well worth the trip.

Easy short trail with a beautiful cascading fall. Cool water to play in. The sound of the fall is soothing. Bring water shoes and clothes you can get wet.
