Great easy trail. We went mid October and it was perfect minus the spider webs. My 4 year old daughter was able to hike with us. Just getting to enjoy nature’s beauty

This is the trail you save for last. Great cool down hike after a few days of high peaks and chest burners. be sure to finish your day at the green heron with a cool refreshing drink alongside the dan river.

Recent floods have washed lots of sand onto the trail near the river. Also a bit muddy. Offers nice views of the bluffs across the Dan River and is a nice walk through the woods on the high side.

Average hike through the woods along the Dan River. There are some pretty bluff views along the river as you hike.

Definitely easy trail but a great easy hike if you’re tired out from other activities at the park like the lake. Beautiful spot next to the class three rapid to watch kayakers. After the hike stop in at the Green Herron for some great beers and a wonderful deck overlooking the river!

Pleasant easy trail mostly along the Dan River with the view of the bluffs. Good for dogs and kids. Does not have the wow factor of some of the park's other features, but a very pleasant walk in the woods nonetheless.
