First things first, Google maps tries to take you to the wrong spot. Turn onto Winding Gap Rd. and veer to the right till you reach the road block. This is the trail. It's a decent little trail, very muddy and a few trees down (but with the shut down that's no surprise). The map leads you to the right, there is an extra little waterfall here. We couldn't see it because there was a huge group of people called out there and we were trying to practice social distancing. But if it's clear, definitely check it out. If you continue on, the falls are beautiful. it's very closed in though, so not many people can get down to it at once. this trail continues on to dismal falls. someone has marked it with orange flagging, but the crossing is still easy to miss. we didn't risk it because I had my baby in a backpack carrier and the crossing was way too sketchy.

We thought this was Dismal Falls but since found out it was Rhapsodie. We went yesterday and LOVED it! You can stand behind the falls! (Of course we HAD to do a Last of the Mohicans scene!!) Trail is not easy (muddy boggy spots, streams to cross, trees and bramble to scramble over) but so many lovely spots. I am enraptured by this trail and falls!

Great easy meandering trail with an awesome waterfall! Will mention that using the GPS left us on the road but we drove back to the first road on our right and then took another right at the fork. This will take you to the trailhead. The water crossings were wonderful.

Enjoyable hike but not for the faint-of-heart or inexperienced hiker. Poorly marked....pink tape where you least need it. Many, many false trails. Lots of water, seeps and creek crossings. Not for Nike hikers. AllTrails recording and GPS a must. Deadfall on the first 1.5 miles has been largely cleared. The last half mile not so much. The entire trail is largely through a Rhododendron thicket that gets increasingly dense and becomes a scramble toward the falls. Slippery footing due to wet leaves.....obscures the hazards underneath. The good part.... the falls at the end are beautiful and very much worth the difficulty.

Cool trail. Hard to find. There is a small gravel road to the right of Trails Carolina that leads back to the trail head. The trail itself is not easy, 7 water crossings, blow downs every where, and huge up hill climb to the falls. Now that being said the falls where fantastic, and just up the trail are some badass boulders. Also about another half mile up the trail is Dismal Falls. We didn’t leave enough time to go visit, but we can come back.

Trail is muddy for the first half mile water flowing down the trail. Have to scramble over trees under bushes trail blocked by trees and bushes but able to go around. Trails not marked cannot be done without the GPS downloaded map there’s no service down there. What are trail crosses creeks 5 times. Trail dead ends at the fall. Nice hike. Little bit of an adventure
