Another pretty stroll around the grounds, with many beautiful roses still blooming in the gardens. I enjoyed a mild November evening walk.

This is one of my favorite local places to get in a quick walk. In particular, I love exploring the formal garden near the mansion/museum, as well as taking the path around the beautiful meadow.

This is a very nice area to explore or to just go to exercise. It was formerly part of the R.J. Reynolds estate. Reynolda House is now a museum for American art. Reynolda Village (comprised of restored former outbuildings) houses many nice shops and restaurants. There is a beautiful formal garden and conservatory. There is also a popular trail that loops around the mansion lawn and a picturesque large meadow. It returns through the woods, ending up by Lake Katharine on the other side of the house (the lake is mostly marsh now). If you want to extend your walk/exercise, you can take the path that leads to the Wake Forest University campus, which was first built in the 1950's on land donated by the Reynolds family.
