Nice, pretty trail. A lot of mountain bikers around but enough space for bikers and hikers on most parts of the trail. Parked in the area before the “fees” sign by the bathroom. Walk up past the fee sign and there’s a ranger station, we asked him for directions to the trail. If you don’t take the connector and keep going to the left at that point, the trail ends at the lake.

Took our two small dogs here. We were impressed with the condition of the trail. It was very nice to walk on and great to just get some time in outdoors. Very easy hike. Make sure you park at the bottom/end of the road. Don’t go past the gate where there is a sign for a fee. You need to park in the areas at the bottom of that hill then walk up that road for about half a mile to get to the entrance of the trail.

Wonderfully short, but beautiful hike! No crazy altitude views, but incredibly beautiful and lush forest with a hidden historic homestead, and plenty of water crossings. I would definitly recommend this in the summer as it has a lot of shade. The only downfall is the parking and the beginning of the trail is a bit hard to find, however you can really mix and match the trail to add or decrease it's length.

Great trail for beginners

This is a popular area in a campground. That being said, in the winter it is a great area for a relaxing hike. Although the parking lot was full, we encountered only a couple people during our hike. This is a popular place for mountain biking. There are several creek crossings affording a chance to filter out some water. These creeks are shallow in most areas, so bring something to scoop with. The first third of the trail is actually a road. This is the only way in during the off-season, and is very easy. There are also a few small fields along the trail perfect for a hammock hang, tarp shelter, or just a good ol cup of coffee. Overall, a short and sweet hike.

Nice short loop with a fun fast decent. Nothing too hard about this trail. I think Pine tree loops into Explore loop which can be a easy fun short ride.
