WalkingGreat!

This is a very well maintained trail with lots of little bridges to get across water. There are A LOT of roots, so I wouldn’t necessarily take my 91 year old grandma on this one. But my 4 year old and husband had a great time! We did see an off leash dog on a neighboring trail but the owner wasn’t far behind at all and recalled him as soon as he saw us (Though he was an awfully cute and friendly yellow lab). We didn’t see too many hikers, but did have to step out of the way for several mountain bikes (we figure it’s easier for us to step aside than it is for them to stop riding and start again while we walk by especially if they’re on a hill). It’s a good one if you’re someone who needs to stop and take some breaks, if you’re tired, or if you just have an always hungry kid who wants never ending snack breaks and thinks it’s most exciting to eat in the woods, there were plenty of places to find a seat right along the trail.

Lots of rocks and tree roots. I have found too many people letting their dogs run loose. My dog is skitish and these folks are making it difficult when they aren't playing by the rules.

Great trail! Went on a Saturday afternoon and only passed a couple people/bikers. Trail is easy with some winding areas and tree roots on trail. Plenty of parking, too.

There have been way, way, way too many unleashed dogs here recently. (Edit: Ironically, they're even in the photos!) They seem to mostly enter through the neighborhood paths. Please show respect for fellow humans and their leashed pets, the wishes of the property owner, and the natural inhabitants of the land. Not to mention, a copperhead bite is expensive to treat and can be lethal! This is a wildlife preserve, but sightings have become scarce lately. Surely the pandemic is responsible for an increase in visitors, but we can all continue to enjoy the park if everyone follows the rules.

Nice little loop. Well marked and easy to follow. Lots of roots to trip over if you’re clumsy like me

Nice and easy, took us just over an hour. Very clear blazes, few rocks, streams were all dried.

The whole area is great for running. Not too many people, which is also great.

First to Review

There is a numbered trail marker going from 1 to 17 (starting at the Sewell Elementary School parking lot. There are many forks and one needs to watch for the arrow to stay on the loop. At the end (right after #17 marker), it's easy to miss the path to the parking lot. It's a relatively flat stroll through the woods and great for hiking and trail running.
