Some parts of the marked trail are a scramble over rocks or large fallen trees. There are alternate routes around most of these. A few areas of the marked trail are well overgrown, having been superseded by more expedient alternate routes. It's a quiet, low-traffic treat.

Nice place for an easy stroll. Pretty overgrown in a couple narrow sections but other than that no complaints. River is littered with sweet rocks to mess around on. Wish I brought my camera.

Great trail! Listed as moderate but I would rate it difficult. Most of the section along the water has a very uneven surface with lots of rocks, roots and fallen trees. Besides that, beautiful woods, lots of wildlife and few other hikers. I highly recommend this trail!

The directions are not correct in the link. This link takes you to the parking area off of Mt. Sinai Rd.

The main trails are gravel roads, but there are trails that shoot off into the woods once you are down near New Hope Creek. Good area for kids and dogs since the main trails are wide and easy to navigate.

The main trail is horrible, for Duke Forest found it more important to gravel everything for their 4-
wheel drives and to clear-cut along the main "trail," than to preserve a natural environment. That being said, however, if you can locate the side single tracks along New Hope Creek, there are a number of worthwhile climbing moments....Also, whenever there are rains that bring New Hope Creek up for kayaking, it is one of the best class 3 runs around!
