WalkingGreat!

First 1/3 is flat and easy, covered with gravel. Back 2/3 is more wooded with bridges, hills, and more tree roots. Still a great trail and as others have said, a hidden gem.

Gem in Mt Holly. Trail is cleared well and labeled nicely. Great shaded afternoon hike.

This trail is a great asset to the Mount Holly area. It’s unfortunate it doesn’t connect to the white water center or downtown MHY. At the last half mile of the trail the elevations changes slightly more and creates a nice feeling of adventure but not extreme or difficult. Very pleasant walk without the crowds of the WhiteWater Center.

This is a mostly shaded trail through the woods along the Catawba River with lots of small, short up and down hills and occasional river views. It has too much noise from the houses across the river to make it feel like a real “out in the woods” experience, and the gravel at the beginning of the trail is rough on feet. Still, we’d go back in the fall to see the leaves changing colors, and it was an interesting hike with cool terrain and a carefully tended trail. If you’re into mountain biking, it looked really interesting, with all kinds of side trails from the main walking path. We were glad we brought bug spray, but it’s not horrible.

Nice trail along the Catawba River. Highly populated on the weekend, great for hiking, mountain biking, fishing or just plain chilling out by the river. No swimming or motorized vehicles on the trail. Not many elevations but a nice curvy trail on a densely wooded trek. Trail starts at the Mount Holly Water Treatment Plant. They’re in the process of building a new playground at the beginning of the trail head, you can cop a seat at a few benches on the trail. There’s a slip for your boat at the end of the trail near the parking lot. Great Hike !!

A nice walk in the woods along the river; the first third is all gravel, but beyond that it's nice woods dirt ... good but short ups and downs.
