Trail was marked very well! Highly suggest bringing trekking poles to help with the fluctuating elevation. Moderately/lightly trafficked on a winter weekend morning. Dogs on leashes. Beautiful views!

What a beautiful, solitary hike today. Mine was the only car in the lot when I arrived. Started at Hanging Rock and had it to myself. It was clouded in but still worth it. There were no views to be had at Wolf Rock, House Rock, or Cook's Wall. I held on to a glimmer of hope that there would be something to see from Moore's Knob. Sure enough, as I entered the last steep section to Moore's Knob. I looked up and saw blue. The views were of the tops of clouds, but still majestic. The trails here handle rain really well but there were several trail-wide puddles and some really muddy spots (looking at you, Magnolia Springs Trail) I jogged down the steps to the campground road. I took the road back to the Hanging Rock trailhead. I figured the steep section going down to the lake was probably muddy. Fourth time doing this trail this year and I have cut more than an hour from my first attempt.

HikingGreat!

Went clockwise and got Hanging Rock and the crowds out of the way early. It would be nice to go back at a time with less people. Yes, my fault, went on a Saturday. It's really cool up there with all the twisted pines and rocks. Then to have Moores Knob last was excellent as it was the highest point of the trail. I didn't know there was a tower up there and to get to the top and have that view was an amazing reward for the lengthy hike. We had a couple in our group that tried to talk me out of completing the loop and stopping after Cooke's Wall as sunset was approaching. Hell no, we're doing it all and they ended up being happy we did. Interesting hike throughout. Would definitely go back to the park to explore more. Was my second time and there's still more to see!

Hiked this counter clockwise starting from the campgrounds. The climb to the knob is a great way to start the day and by the time you get to hanging rock you will be feeling that last stair climb. There is a spring on the magnolia trail to replenish your water. great day of hiking.

What a hike. Beautiful, stunning, and worth the trek! Amazing views and a challenging and scenic hike. It was definitely hard, but in the best way possible. There are a lot of trails and different routes with overlooks if you don’t want to hike 11 miles. But if you’re up for it.. trust me, it’s worth it

Great trail! Went on a Thursday, only saw a handful of other people, not very populated the day we went! Great hike, some challenging elevation gains with rocks but worth it.
