This is a nice urban walk/hike that is perfect for stopping by in the afternoon after work or taking the kids on a Sunday afternoon. The trail is pit gravel for the first 3/4 mile and the remainder is either asphalt or elevated wood decking for over 3 more miles. You'll be sharing the trail with hikers, joggers, walkers and bikers but the wide path allows you plenty of room. There is a small picnic area at the trailhead and benches are plentiful along the trail as well as mileage markers. There are several places to detour down to the creek and I've seen numerous birds and butterflies along the way.

Flooded at 1.75 marker, hugged a fence to cross. Flooded at 3.50 before the Pike’s Bridge. Impassable today.

This is an active community trail in South Charlotte NC, mainly used for biking and walking. Trail is well maintained by Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation. Most of the park is wetlands and supplemented by several boardwalks to make it walkable. Trail is used by many of the locals to run, bike and walk their dogs. There are several trail entrances into the local community, allowing easy access for pedestrians. The McMullen Trail connects to the Lower McAlpine and 4 Mile Creek Greenways. There are a few low lying areas that accumulate muddy spots but nothing you can’t walk around. I went out 3.5 miles, turned around and got just under 7 miles in. Plenty of parking in the lot off highway 51. There’s a bike repair station and water fountain at the start of the trail . You will definitely see some local wildlife while on your hike ... deer and the NC common Blue Heron. Another great NC trail ... nice and quiet for family activities or lone hikes.

One of my favorite trails. It extremely long distance for a suburban trail. The paths are wide and very easy to follow.

Be careful on the unpaved section of this trail. There are several places where there are rocks that stick up above the surface and can take you down if you don’t notice them. Speaking from experience.

Flat, good place to run. Ducks, Deer etc. Trail heads have pull up bars and sit up stations. Great for dog walk.

A beautiful stroll with lots of water run off and wild life for kids.

Nice flat trail in town, mostly shaded. Lock your vehicle and take valuables with you. Lots of car break ins and attempted break ins.

Even surfaces but right next to neighborhoods. Good urban trail.

Very nice and well maintained by the county. Always see wildlife on this trail. Does flood out and get muddy in a few spots but just wait a few days and it's fine. Been riding my MTB on it for a nice, quick lunch ride for several years now. Always a nice stress reliever.

Pretty area, easy and nice trail. I was surprised by the lack of smiles when passing people...odd.

It's definitely Charlotte. You could google directions to the "McMullen creek greenway parking" and that will take you to the lot, not people's homes. Nice easy walk, mostly paved and boardwalks with slight hills.

The Getting There instructions are for Charlotte, NOT Monroe, NC. The map location is showing Monroe, NC just off of Hwy 200. This is conflicting information. What is the real location in Monroe, NC?

The Greenway just keep getting better as they produce more sections. Love this urban stroll for the combination of city and the outdoors. This one is a regular.
