A great little trail that easily leads to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Once there, you are only feet away from connecting to the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. Once you reach the parkway look across the parkway and to your right. You will see a car pull off area where you can access the Mountains-to-Sea Trail and hike to your heart's content. In the winter this section of the Parkway is often closed which means you have the Parkway to yourself.

great trail, I agree, the directions to where it starts isn't correct. it's on your right -you'll see the signage. it just stops at the blue ridge parkway, but if you take a left once you hit it, you can walk down to Haw Creek Valley Overlook. it's not too far down, just be careful.
our dog loved the trail!

Took my 5 & 3 year old, its a fun little hike. Directions were slightly off, it was to my right coming in with a small bridge and asheville parks sign. Not much parking, maybe three cars in the mud along the side of the road. Really shady, ends at the blue ridge parkway where you see a teeny tiny mountain view far off and through the trees. Uphill the whole way with very gradual inclines. Lots of cool mushrooms along the way.
