If you need some incline and decline work, I recommend this trail. A TON of up and down, and steep. Really challenged me but worth it!
great day for a small hike, around a half mile in there is a down tree right in the trail along the rest of the trail there is also down trees but not blocking trail completely like the first tree we encountered. all in all, I'd do it again.
Beautiful hike and the views are worth it. But steep, very very steep. Like others recommend, experienced hikers only. It was very rewarding trail.
This is a hard one. It will challenge your fitness for sure. Pay attention to the elevation change. That said, it's beautiful. Pinnacle is beautiful (though more new to be done to encourage the leave no trace philosophy). Didn't finish the trail today, we didn't have equipment for overnight and we started too late to finish before dark.
It looks like a landslide happened about halfway down the trail with quite a few large trees down across the trail. I didn’t go any farther than that point. The views at the beginning are beautiful! After that it’s mostly down a very steep hill down to the landslide and I think some trees got struck by lightning down there too. What’s past that I don’t know as I turned back rather than risk a twisted ankle because I was alone and had to make it back up the hill to my car. Also FYI, the trail is down a hard pack gravel road. It was dry though, so my Civic made it fine and someone else’s Prius as well.
Steep hike! Trees down about a little less than a mile from the river trail making the trail impassable. Beautiful views at the beginning of the trail.
