Lake Toxaway Area Waterfalls is a 0.3 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Lake Toxaway, North Carolina that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking and is accessible year-round.
Nowhere to stop and get a good view of the falls. There are no obvious platforms to look at the falls and it's hard to get a good picture due to all the condos in the way. Lots of construction going on in the area as well.
Lake Toxaway area is blessed with many waterfalls, notably those in Gorges State Park. We hiked about four and a half miles total to Rainbow Falls (which after the rainfall we have had rivals some of the western falls in heighth and volume), Turtleback Falls, and Bearwallow Falls overlook (a separate trail from the Gorges State Park road). Gorges is open for hiking, the brand new and impressive visitor center is scheduled to open in August. The hike to Turtleback was great, a well-maintained trail that crosses some small stream beds and rises and falls throughout - some steep parts and red clay which would really be slippery when wet... the views of the waterfalls are great and you can swim at the base of Rainbow and actually slide off Turtelback - great picnic spots along the way. Highly recommend it. As for Bearwallow Falls Overlook, after Rainbow and Turtleback, somewhat of a letdown. Very short trail to a platform overlook...
