local park and trail, well traveled. paved for strollers and joggers

This trail is very easy. Almost all of it is paved so normal shoes would be appropriate here. There are some beautiful spots like the point you walk out to which is at the southernmost point if the trail. On the weekends there can be a lot of people. Remember to leave no trace. Happy Trails!

Very family friendly nice park. Similar to McDowell park in south Charlotte if you’ve ever been. Not a challenging hike. Wheelchair and dog friendly paved paths with lots of nice lake lookovers. Not challenging if that’s what your looking for but perfect for an easy going Sunday afternoon. A small lake beach and playground for kids as well.

99% paved trail featuring amazing views of Lake Norman. Excellent choice for a <2 mile hike after a few weeks of (early) “spring” rain. We saw a few robins and lots of leashed dogs. Lots of spots to picnic, unsure of reservation policy. Great playground near trailhead.

Love this park. Great views of the lake, however, there are way too many people.

Family-friendly trail with scenic views of Lake Norman

My rating is for running only. Overall the loop is too short to be awesome for a run and the trails are paved. It gets crowded! However it is lovely for a leisurely stroll.

on the water and with some forest/ trees but completely paved and over built.

Great, relaxed walk! Took along one of the dogs too. Wasn’t too heavily trafficked and timed it perfectly to catch the sunset over the lake.

Very nice scenic trail that borders Lake Norman in the town of Cornelius. Great views, nice & easy 1 mile asphalt walking trail. The neighborhood regulars get their daily walk in with their dogs. The park is well maintained and reasonably safe. Easily accessible to restaurants and the highway. Great for an impromptu hike.

Nice and shaded.

This is more of a walk than a hike. A lot of people were using the trail to walk/run on a weekday morning. It has some nice lake views. Walking the entire trail only takes about 25 mins! I think there is a $3 park entry fee, but if you go outside of park hours you can avoid it (I went at 8am).

Nice easy walk along the water's edge.

A great beginner ride or hike. A must do if you live close by. If you live far you may be disappointed, unless you incorporate it with a visit to the rest of this great lakefront park.
