I haven’t been on a trail this well maintained in a really long time. Groomed may be a better word. This is even more impressive with the fairly high level of mountain bike traffic in this area, which in my experience seems to wear a trail more than foot traffic. Kudos to the trail crew out busily working on a side trail off my route, your work is greatly appreciated! This trail brought back memories of a Forest Engineering lecture I attended many, many moons ago about the use of broad based dips to route runoff across a road or trail. Whomever laid out this trail had evidently attended a similar lecture and paid attention as the trail is routed to minimize erosion. It’s always pleasant to see theory put into practice this effectively. The trails and intersections are well marked, I had no trouble navigating my chosen route. The pup and I had a very pleasant hike meeting a handful of very nice folks, many with their dogs. All in all, a most agreeable experience, thanks again to those whose hard work made it possible.

This trail is a great area to get into mountain biking. You can the day trying new trails or reversing the direction to get a different ride. I have ridden this trail in many different conditions and always find it fun and challenging!

This trail is good for hikers and bikers, total of 14 miles . I did the 3.1 white trail, it was hard packed, you saw part of Chatuge lakes peninsulas. The trail is a stacked loop design so all 8 trails are connected to a core trail , which makes it easy to build on. I really enjoyed this trail, I found myself stopping often to read the wonderful signage about all the forest landscape. What a learning experience too. Well maintained ,clean restrooms, easy to find and lots of parking.

Great flowing trails. Clear and clean. Took the entire family even my 5 yr old bmx track racer had fun. Well his breaks went out on a downhill fun causing him to eat it at the turn but all in all was a fun trail and lots of options to take harder trails.

Came across this trailhead by accident while turning around in N.C. heading to GA line. Walked a majority of the loop and it was well marked and maintained. Going to be back kayaking in September.

Very nice easy trail. Well marked and enjoyed the numerous plants that were identified with signage. The trail is shared with bikers but everyone we encountered was respectful and courteous.

Glorious! We had the entire circuit to ourselves and only saw the occasional fisherman. We walked several of the loops.

Enjoyed this trail. Easy to navigate, terrain was even with a few sloping areas, pretty views and well marked vegetation. The additional loops add extra trail if you want a bit more distance. Nice beach areas. Very clean.

All the trails Marked very well . Like how there are a lot of different loops to take off the main loop. Can choose your distance as you go

This was a nice trail, although I'm not sure I would bring my two and three year old back to walk it as it seems primarily designed for mountain bikers. I loved that they marked the flowers, trees and shrubs!

I loved running this trail plus it has a beach and an island!!! There are also a lot of spots to camp. Easy hike and pretty. I haven't taken a bike on it but it looks really fun with the curves and the ups and downs.

Excellent trails for the beginner not too technical and the climbs aren't difficult. These trails are fast and fun like being on a roller coaster.

We had a wonderful time. We went in the morning during the week - meaning we were the only ones there. When we were leaving a couple more people cars pulled in. It was quaint and nice; the trails were fast flowing, but not what I call thrilling.

Very nice level trail that has lake view for much of the hike. While there were mostly bikers they were all polite and friendly and shared the trail appropriately. The leaves are just beginning to turn. This trail has many educational tree and fauna identifying markers with great descriptions so if you are interested in learning about this then this is the trail for you!

It wasn't the best mountain biking trail in the world but it was still extremely fun. Make sure to watch out for other bikers around the sharp corners because we nearly crashed into other bikers twice. I would not recommend hiking because you are constantly on alert for on coming bikers.

Good hike for everyone, including small family members. There is a nice bathroom facility at the parking lot. The trail signage is very clear and you can easily figure out which trails you want to take. The Central loop is 3.1 miles and the loops off of it are very well marked at each intersection, even giving you the mileage of the extra loop. You can add loops and make up a hike of around 6 miles or juswt stick with the basic loop of 3.1 miles. Having the lake in view most of the time is an added bonus. Really enjoyed this hike.
