The High Ridge trail is an alternate trail off the Mill Pond Trail at Yates Mill in Raleigh. While this does go up about 150 feet in elevation, it is still an easy trail and not as nice as the Mill Pond or Creekside Trails. It goes into the woods and that's about it, no real points of interest. It was nice hiking the ridge with the leaves just popping out, as you could see over the lake and the NC State ag fields from a higher viewpoint - although through the trees. As it is only 0.8 mile point to point, if you have the time, it offers some variety if you are tired of flat hikes; if pressed for time, the Mill Pond gives you plenty (and include the Wetlands Boardwalk).
