Tips

A tour of two of Dupont State Forest's stunning waterfalls...and also some intriguing mystery. Hiking Route: Right on Buck Forest Road, left on Covered Bridge Trail, right on High Falls Trail, right on Triple Falls Trail, right on Buck Forest Road back to parking

Be sure to bring water and sunscreen. Wear casual hiking clothes and boots. Driving Directions: (From Brevard) Turn south 4. 0 miles on DuPont Road that turns into Staton Road. Go past the Hooker Falls Access to High Falls Access Area on the left. Waterfall Safety Warning Provided by the Dupont Forest website: WARNING: Although beautiful to see, waterfalls can be very dangerous. Every year people fall TO THEIR DEATH after a slip on wet rocks above and around waterfalls in the area. Never climb or slide on waterfalls, or swim, wade or play in the water above a waterfall. Children must be constantly supervised when visiting waterfalls. Do not allow pets to roam freely. It is easy to underestimate the slickness of rocks and the strong flow of water. Stay on the established trails and enjoy the view from the overlooks.

waaay too many people. multiple groups of 20+, no social distancing. some had masks but not the big groups. parking was scarce: had to park at lake imaging parking lot (~1/2 mile away). Arrived at 10:00 AM, which wad probably too late. problem may have been 3 day weekend - we tried to it on Sunday, 5th of July.

Beautiful hike with amazing waterfalls. Would prob try reverse of what we did and end at High Falls and enjoy the day relaxing there. Well marked and fairly easy hike with just a few hills.

Great trail. Absolutely loved the waterfalls, and the ability to get so close to the Falls. Some steep inclines but overall not too difficult. Would definitely do again.

Such a great hike. Very busy but loved the waterfalls and you can take a stop and swim in the river which was awesome. Some good inclines here and there. Definitely not secluded but would definitely do again

This was such a pretty place! We only went to the High Falls which was fairly easy, only really difficult when wanting to get closer to the falls because there wasn’t much room to walk because there were so many people. Parking could’ve been horrendous but we got super lucky finding a parking spot at the time we went. It was so beautiful and very worth it all!

Easy. The most challenging part was getting to High Falls - you have to climb some rocks and some are a little slippery. To descend to Triple Falls, you take a stair case.

Such a great trail! The views are amazing, especially if you hike down to the base of high falls. Moderate workout! :)

This is a fun and easy trail, with two gorgeous waterfalls. The first half, near the river, is the better half, but it’s still a great loop and worth the drive.

For the most part, this was a relatively easy loop. Other than getting down to the falls it’s a relatively gentle incline/decline most of the way. We chose to go to the base of both falls and it is absolutely worth it. With the temperature starting out at 23 degrees, there was some ice in the shady areas.

Great trail to tackle with kids. Trail is wide and well maintained. I wouldn’t classify as “moderate”- “easy” seems to be a better description in my opinion. The falls were gorgeous- Especially after all of the rain we’ve had. We will be doing this one again.

Nice short hike to see three amazing waterfalls! Some parts of the trail were washed out from the recent heavy rains, but did not effect the hike.

The waterfalls were beautiful after a good rain but the trail was entirely to populated for my liking. We saw 50+ people today on the entire hike and more were coming whenever we left. The trail is well maintained but you’re shoulder to shoulder with everyone.

Heavily trafficked and popular trail. My wife and dog saw at least 40-50 people out on the trail. It was pretty beautiful though. Not difficult at all. Moderate is a little high in my opinion. Would do it again maybe to trail run if it wasn’t to crowded.
