Loved it. May be common sense but definitely wear shoes with good grips. Well worth the hike. Take the park shuttle up and then the trail head is a short walk from shuttle drop off. I would pay the $17 again. I also went to the lookout via the elevator before this hike.

Not worth $17/person to visit. Many more scenic views outside of chimney rock, for free. Would also consider this moderate, not easy. Wouldn’t be as bad if it were free I suppose, but the waterfall isn’t great regardless.

The falls are beautiful and worth walking there. The way to the falls are not as good and it is the reason I gave it only 4 stars. In any case - definitely worth the time to go there.

Great walk! A little uphill but no biggie. Lot of dogs were on the trail happily walking in this cool weather. It was raining and we barely even knew because there is so much tree cover!

Easy trail to the waterfall. We got caught on the rain so we were a little wait when we got back to the shuttle.

We took the Four Seasons trail to Hickory Nut to the waterfall. The first 2/3 is uphill and has some stairs. Then it levels off the last part as you get to Hickory Nut trail. The waterfall is impressive with minimal area to get in the water.

Not a difficult trail but the falls at the end of it is just stunning. Worthy of a national park. The chance to play in swimsuits was a plus for the kids. Highly recommend!

It was a good trail, easy for regular hikers, more moderate for the non-hiker that wants to give it a try to see the falls while visiting Chimney Rock. We had a great time. Definitely saw a copperhead hanging out right where people would be getting into the “pool” at the base of the waterfall. Kids loved it and so did the adults.

Today I hiked from Four Seasons Trail connecting to Hickory Falls trail up to the falls, then went up to Chimney Rock and from there to Devil’s Head and Exclamation Point and back down through Four Seasons Trail. I’m in pretty good shape and I was exhausted by the time I made it to exclamation point, that being said the views were breath taking and there were plenty of benches on the way up with beautiful viewing areas. The falls was gorgeous as well. All of it was so worth it. I arrived just as the park opened, 830 am, so I was able to enjoy the falls and all of the views without many people. I have posted a 4K start to finish of my hike for anyone curious to see- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTCj8-6_DfQ

This hike is inside of Chimney Rock SP and is a nice out and back that is shaded in the summer months. In mid-July 2020 the falls were spectacular but not as strong as I expect they would be in the spring. It was hard not to want to jump in the water to cool off :-)

I have hiked this trail twice. The first time was in 2001 and there had been a drought and the falls were like a trickle of water. The second time was in 2018 and the falls were beautiful.

The trail is family friendly and wide enough to keep your distance while passing each other. Photos don’t really do the falls justice. I was surprised at how tall the falls were. Definitely recommend if you’re in the park.

Nice waterfall at the end. But there are better falls to see in the area that are free and don't have the overcrowding. Too touristy
