Not too bad, very rocky and root filled. Waterfall is nothing too spectacular but is big enough to dip your head in to cool off

Great trail. The path off Julia trail to the waterfall is definitely worth the trip. It’s not a long hike but there are a lot of rocks, roots and a few steep parts to make it a good little hike

Nice, quiet Sunday walk. Sound of the Slaty Creek running throughout. On the easy side of moderate, but not for toddlers.

Nice trail. On the easy side of moderate. I agree with other reviews, the Julia side trail to a small waterfall is worth the few additional steps.

Loved the quick trail! We missed one turn that would’ve shown us more, but still lived it!!

I picked up this trail on the way down from Graybeard at the bridge and didn't see the start of it from the parking lot so I didn't know you needed to hit the Sanctuary Trail on the way back. The Harry Bryan Trail was okay but, for me, the big draw was the Julia Trail mentioned by the previous reviewer. I saw the sign said that the waterfall was .25 miles on the Julia Trail from the Harry Bryan Trail so I had to check it out and I'm glad I did. Definitely don't miss the waterfall if you take this trail. I might call it a little more moderate than easy because there are quite a bit of rocks and roots to have to be careful around.

Ok so we did part of this then connected into Julia trail which isn’t on all trails. There is a waterfall and it is gorgeous! We saw a few other people but not a ton. It is a pretty tight trail but man so gorgeous and mostly follows the river. It was so nice and shady. We loved it!

Cool, easy hike next to stream most of the way. Cross a few bridges. Recommend for quick day hike. Not too strenuous, but gets heart rate up a bit going counter clockwise on loop. Getting to trailhead is tricky as road is closed. Detour takes you through awesome neighborhood, but tight, tough roads. Overall, nice day in the woods.

One of the more beautiful quick hikes available in the greater Asheville area.

Beautiful, short trail. Easy to follow along Flat Creek, which is not very flat along this section. Great place to rock the boat hop and swim in the cold, clear water. Also, some native brook trout in this section. Not that strenuous, with the last section following driveways back to the trailhead.

This is a great trail if you want a nice stroll with nature. There is a small not exactly a waterfall thats .4 off the trail. It's marked with handwritten white blazes. There are some benches to sit on there. This trail starts out as Graybeard trail and then you go left at the sign.

Nice hike with kids. Difficult enough to challenge the fam and keep our attention but easy enough to finish with some gas in the tank. Lots of people on the trail, that’s the loss of a star, the parking gets crunchy if you don’t hit it early enough. Good length for the 5 year old and plenty of up and down. Definitely take the spur that goes up to the waterfall. It’s not huge but it’s a nice spot. It’s just outside Black Mountain where we are staying at the Monte Vista Hotel, so it is perfect and three miles to the trailhead. Had a good time and will go back.
