A little over 3 mile loop next to Lake Mackintosh. Moderate terrain with some roots, rocks and hills. Very clean and open view of the wooded area. Little to no brush growth under the trees.

This trail is very rocky and rooty...definitley "shaken not stirred". Did the northeast park trail before this one which is only 15 min north from here and had a much better ride. This trail is split into 3 distances depending on how much you want to do.

Best hiking trail I've been on! The first half goes up a hill, hugging the lake. Then the 2nd half circles down going through a beautiful path along man-placed trees.

Lots of roots and rocks... don't fuel with pre-workout before checking in at the entrance.

Nice 5k run. Just enough roots, rocks, and rolling hills to make it interesting, but not enough to force a slow pace. Love the quartz outcrops.

Would give it 5 stars if it was a few miles longer.

Nov 15, 2016 completed the 3 mile loop with a 20 pound back pack and it was a nice hike. Trail was easy to follow, a few small hills. there was a gazebo about the half way mark and it overlooked the water. There were a few benches to rest. There were some rocks and roots but overall I thought it was fairly easy.
The park is closed on Wed and Thur as mentioned before and Dec and Jan it will only be open Friday Saturday and Sunday.

I went to mountain bike for the first time here this morning, beware, closed Wednesday's and Thursdays. I will return to give a more accurate review when I can get in. No posting here or hours listed that showed they are closed mid week, wanted others to know.

this was a fun hike with a natural path, occassional benches, bridges, a gazebo, a picnic area - good idea for next time!, lots of frogs! turtles, lake views, mushrooms, etc. its lightly trafficked and good for hiking or running. there are lots of other activities to do at the park as well! great visit. we even did half of it in the rain and enjoyed it.

Love this trail! Roots and rocks make it a bit challenging, but doable for most folks. There's a one mile loop for anyone looking for a shorter adventure.

Shaded trail, very relaxing. Rates are good for kayaking. In the summer they do evening paddles.
