This loop is quite difficult to follow without the trail downloaded as others have said, I went on a few happy accidents. I completed the loop clockwise but counter is probably more gratifying. Great diversity of scenery, lovely trail.

There was a lot of up hill at the start of this hike. We would recommend going to the right when starting out. Some parts were strenuous but overall an enjoyable hike.

Very pretty in the beginning part!! At one point there is a very steep incline. Dog friendly . Very pretty waterfall... make sure you slide down the hill to see it up close . It’s like it’s own little paradise.

Nice narrow trail for the most part. Not really a view at the highest points but nice. Gorgeous portion near the river with probably plenty of opportunities to spot white water kayakers enjoy the rapids. Longer than indicated (~9.5miles on our watch)

HikingGreat!

I really liked this hike but you need to know it is quite steep. I was sorry I didn’t have my Great Pyrenees on the way up but my knees happy not to have them on the way down. More importantly, a limitation of AllTrails is it doesn’t tell you when one trail ends which way to go. Clockwise, it’s green river to Pulliam to bear branch to long branch to stair step to... I forgot the rest so download the map layers and track yourself to make sure you are still on trail. Reception in certain spots. Muddy in sections but not awful. The green river trail tracks the river but once you go to Pulliam to bear, it’s wooded. Very pretty but very narrow in sections, which I don’t love because of poison ivy and snakes but not a deterrent. Also, we hit a yellow jacket nest and got bitten up. I would definitely do this one again. Trailhead is right across the street from the very small parking area.

HikingGreat!

Pros: lots of time by a pretty river, good incline, lots of cool mushrooms, minimal traffic Cons: lots of trail switches (prob don’t want to do this without solid research or AllTrails pro), technically no views (but pretty hike!), lots of gnats in spots (maybe seasonal) Overall great time!

Hidden gem. Only trail in the area that was actually open and what a pleasant surprise. Some great vertical. Started out with Bluff trail that is a steady steep climb for about 1 mile and then to a small waterfall stair step falls. From there up to the highest point gradually on long ridge trail. Everything is well marked and maintained. Great workout that took 4 hours. No real photo spots, but a great hike.

beautiful hike with lots of views. I would rate it hard. Because the lame government closed all the state parks there was a ton of people.

We did the loop counter-clockwise to get the steepest climbing done while we were fresh. All junctions were marked well with trail signs. Nice views of surrounding peaks and the river since trees are still bare.

This was surprisingly awesome. We did the river for the back half and it was gorgeous! I’d like to visit again during fall.

Should really be rated difficult. It's really steep up for almost 4 miles, then pretty steep almost the whole way down. Probably wouldn't do this one again, especially not in the winter. Not many views once you got past the river. To me, the hard part of this (Bear Branch and down) wasn't worth the effort.

Really nice 8 mile or so hike. Great winter views of nearby peaks. Nice view of lower Narrows section of the Green river.

Beautiful hike along the river. Bear Branch should be rated difficult because of the significant elevation gain. Make sure you have a trail map. Some trail forks can be confusing.
