Grassy Road Trail and Sycamore Cove Loop is a 4.1 mile loop trail located near Pisgah Forest, North Carolina that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and camping.
January 3, 2021Great hike, it wasn't crowded and it was a nice day. It was uphill the first part, nothing strenuous, and downhill the second part. Lots of different marked trails you can steer off to so downloading a map is a good idea.

December 31, 2020Very picturesque in the winter with views of a lovely brook. Couldn't find parking at Davidson River Campground so parked across 276 about 100 feet up the road and got on the trail at the north end of the parking lot. Only thing we didn't like was having to walk right beside the highway for about 100 yards at the end.
December 15, 2020September 30, 2020September 28, 2020September 4, 2020Nice shady walk in the woods. We hiked it counter clockwise starting at trailhead just above Sycamore Flats picnic area. It was an uncrowded hike. Saw a few bikers and one other hiker. Most of climb was at the beginning and it wasn’t terribly difficult. This part of trail follows stream drainage for the most part. It should have some nice views in the winter since there is quite a bit of deciduous hardwood forest on the slopes. We picked this trail because other trails with waterfalls and / or scenic views would be a bit crowded since it’s Labor Day weekend.

July 6, 2020Had a great hike along this trail. Totally alone except for occasional mountain bikers. Beautiful stream crossings, lovely scenery.

First to ReviewParked at Davidson River CG. Short connection from flat Art Loeb cross 276 and do Sycamore loop. 4 miles moderate. Was after a day of heavy rain so muddy in spots and stream crossings were a little more adventurous. Good hike.
