Cool trail easy to navigate and has signs all over that teach about the flora and geology. Be careful when walking on the rocks at the top as they might be slippery

It was a little uphill at the beginning but not too bad. It has been years since I hiked this trail and the view isn't, as open as it used to be. Still worth the hike.

Absolutely love this trail. Easy walk to expansive, beautiful views. An excellent choice for a quick hike with great payoff. Foliage is amazing along the trail itself. Be sure to check out the plaques!

My husband, my 5 year old daughter and I did this short hike over Labor Day weekend and we really enjoyed it! It’s a quick hike to the top and beautiful views of the Linville Valley and Grandfather Mountain. It was easy enough for my 5 year old but just “challenging” enough to get the heart rate elevated and feel good afterwards. Lots of places to sit and take in the views. We will definitely do this short hike again.

Such a lovely quick and easy hike. I did this trail in the summer in sandals. Not hard, very god for families with small children. Sunny day made for beautiful views.

Super easy trail to an extremely expansive view. Multiple places to enjoy the view, more chipmunks than I could count. Pretty wildflowers. Loved it

One of my favorite walks-- I like to take my lapdogs; it's not too difficult for them. Interesting wildflowers at various seasons, nice views. I don't know why someone said this trail has a babbling brook; it definitely has nothing more brook-like than the drainage ditch by the parking lot.

Nice easy short hike. My 2.5year old did it with ease. There are some roots and rocks. Great view even with all the clouds!

Great hike if you only have less than 45 minutes. Super convenient as trail head off of Blue Ridge Parkway. Great views, plenty or rock areas to explore.

Stroll up gravel path through meadows and woods to overlook with a tower and nice view of Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Blowing Rock, Sugar Mountain, etc. Easy-going walk with many switchbacks to make it a gradual climb.

Easy trail and spectacular view. Different than most area trails because of the numerous rock formations.

This is an excellent beginner trail, with great views and interpretive signs along the way. My mom used to take me out here all the time when I was younger to educate me about the forest. I enjoyed those times, but now the interpretive plaques are in disrepair. Still, the trail is enjoyable, and you can see into Linville and north. In addition, an unofficial trail spurs off from the left and goes north to Eseola and Roseboro Rd.

A nice "walk in the woods" trail. There are some great views at the north end. meanwhile, enjoy a short walk in the beautiful forest. We encountered thunderstorms on the parkway just before this trail and just after, but had blue skies for the walk.

This trail is pretty easy for the most part. A nice interpretive loop, with a view of Linville at the top. A spur trail veers off and exits parkway property to keep on going into Linville. The interpretive signs are showing their age, but the trail is still fun and family friendly.
