Easy hike through the woods. The fern trail connects to other trails, so you can use this trail to get to a much harder one if you'd like. This particular trail is super easy and beautiful.

HikingGreat!

Easy loop around trail. Lots of trees are leaning on this trail. Not very crowded. Goes by the picnic tables though.

Easy hike through the woods. The fern trail connects to other trails, so you can use this trail to get to a much harder one if you'd like. This was super easy and beautiful. My wife carried our small child in a carrier. And a little excitement to boot, in that we came upon a rattlesnake!

Very busy and packed out with people, which made it difficult to enjoy fully at times. Nevertheless, good views and a fun time. Shaded, which is crazy important during the summer months — today is a high of 95 and I would’ve died without the coverage.

Date: 2/4/20 Weather: 63°, sunny Parking: large lot at visitors center Trail markings: well blazed Total length: 9.9 miles Overall: If you take a left up Crowders Trail to the Backside Trail, the steep incline is stairs, which I would have preferred to use going down. Pinnacle Peak elevation gain is switchbacks with a great view on top. I’m always bummed when you can hear highway noise on a whole hike but the accessibility is good. Trail was busy for a Tuesday with a loud, obnoxious group on Crowders Mountain. A good hike overall.

Easy hike for all ages, beautiful pond and ferns line the tree line, well shaded if you are sun sensitive.

quiet on colder days, we didn't see a ton of people. it was a nice, easy hike. we combined the lake loop and fern trail and it made for a nice 2 mile hike.

Only lightly trafficked during weekdays, and this trail connects with the lake trail loop, both are easy for a nice walk, definitely easy enough for young kids or senior dogs.
