Lots of stairs! Absolutely worth it though for the views.

Lots and lots of stairs!! Fun though. Can’t wait to come back and try the upper trail. My group was not up for the challenge.

Lots of steps to the top but beautiful views. At the top there is an extra 2-3 mile hike to view the top of the falls, this hike was pretty private and not at all crowded like the stair hike.

Decent trails with views. Everyone that works there seems strangely oblivious that chimney rock itself looks very reminiscent of a giant.. umm.... Trails often very very crowded.

Been coming to this trail since i was little. Lots of steps leading to Chimney Rock. The Exclamation Point is fun for the family with a short hike and view of Lake Lure.

Not a bad hike. A good bit of stair climbing, but nothing too bad. Views during summer time are amazing with plenty of openings throughout the trail. An easy 30 min or less climb to Exclamation point if you are already at Chimney Rock.

Dont waste your time. There used to be good trails here. It's all gone. Been sanitized for the masses.

Chimney Rock Park is great! Lots of steps on this hike. The Devil’s head rock is pretty unique. I recommend the hike to the bottom of the falls over continuing pst exclamation to the top.

Moderate hike to an amazing view. Keep going to view the top of Hickory Nut Falls.

Very well maintained. Great lookout point. Exclamation point was muddy but after all the rain we have gotten this year I wouldn’t expect otherwise

I loved this park! I usually don't like touristy places, but this was an exception. Such awesome views of lake lure. If the chimney rock wasn't enough, there's also a 400 foot waterfall.

Steep steps, icy very windy! Great views from the top, Brutally cold day.

Plenty of stairs. Not too difficult.

Beautiful! There is an elevator option to get to the flag lookout. There are lots of stairs, if you opt not to do the elevator. I like it, but seemed very new and put together. I tend to prefer more off trail styles. There is also a charge to get into the park, which we did not expect.

A lot of stairs to climb, but totally doable. My 7yo made it, no problem.

This isn’t a “hard” trail. I would rank it moderate. The biggest issue is cardio. There are a lot of steps and incline but the footing is good and the trail is short. As always, wear the proper shoes because there is water on the trail. Great views with a good workout. I would definitely do this again, but continue up Skyline as well.

My wife and I did this with our 3 and 5 year old daughters. Hiked to the big waterfall then took the stairs up to Chimney Rock and then up to exclamation point - elevator back down. Great trip.

We walked up all the stairs to get to Exclamation Point! Lots of stairs so not much hiking. The views are amazing up there and worth the climb! Then we went down to Devils Head. It was fine but no big deal to me.

Short hike, but there are lots of stairs which make it a fairly strenuous hike/walk. However, you will be rewarded with beautiful and unique views from Chimney Rock.

you will feel.very accomplished once you get up there. The views are amazing! Does require a level of fitness as the rating suggests. Reward yourself with ice cream at the restaurant up there. Tastes even better at a higher altitude!

Difficult trail but its so worth the views, and you'll climb many stairs to get to this level. Beautiful sites and natural wonders.
