First time on this trail! It didn’t start raining until our hike back up. It was perfect hiking weather. Safe trail for the conditions!!

My wife and I walked this trail for the second time in 10 years, and it hasn't changed much in that it is still a pretty easy walk with outstanding views at all of the stops. Anyway, there are rocks and stumps as I expected on a natural trail sick as this. I would imagine someone wanting to run this trail would have to be extremely careful of the obstacles up to and including the number of people. The natural scenes along the entire trail are very nice and each stop has a stunning view if you want to take a break.

Beautiful views from the top. I wouldn't rate this as moderate though...probably more easy. There are rocks and roots towards the top, but it's not too bad. Happy hiking!

We did this with our 3 yr old and a Bob Stroller. Path is well worn, some sections had lots of roots and stones but was still manageable with the off road stroller. Views were great, I imagine this place gets very busy during leaf peeping season.

Nice short trail to get a top, distant view the beautiful Linville Waterfall. Beautiful, well maintained trails.

Short sweet and easy. We did three overllooks, Erwin, chimney view and gorge view. I am an eighty year old woman. On a drizzly Monday the trails were full of a wide range of walkers and only thinned out a bit after the first viewpoint.

Short, easy uphill hike to view overlooking the falls. Shaded the whole way apart from the viewing platforms.

A previous review stated it was a good place to swim. Except there are signs that say no swimming or no swimming in parkway waters. Other than not being able to go swimming the hike was amazing

Trail is easy as far as good walking paths and stairs. It is a pretty good hike up though so not an easy flat walk. Beautiful falls from various lookouts. Definitely worth the hike.

This trail is adjoined to the trail tied directly to the falls. The view allows you an eagle-eye view of the upper and lower falls from a greater distance. There was a large tree that got blown down and you will need to climb over. This trail was okay, but I would stick with the trails closer to the falls for the breathtaking feeling you may be looking for.

This, Linville Falls Trail and Linville Overlook Trail should be together. Probably won’t ever do this one again. Very easy and boring.

This is definitely a busy place, but there's a reason. It is worth it big time. Make sure to hike to the bottom to swim!

The trails that pass through the Visitors Center, across the bridge, and up a mild incline include the Upper Falls View (where you are within a few feet of where the river flows down through the rocks before plunging over the falls), Chimney View (which is directly across from the Plunge Basin Overlook), Gorge View, and Erwin's View. All offer great views but Erwin's View has the best view straight into the falls although the most distant. I consider this hike to be easy for all ages and the viewing areas are all stone walled in and safe. If you follow this trail, take in all of the viewing areas, not just Erwin's.
