Deerlick Gap Overlook [CLOSED] is a 3.9 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Little Switzerland, North Carolina that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is accessible year-round.

Bugs

The trailhead was difficult to find and simply led to the road. There were no additional views to see along the way. Seems like an old ATV trail. I would probably skip this one.

This trail dosen't have those spectacular views that other trails have but it meanders down the hill beside deerlick overlook into the valley below. Nice woodland scenery with signs of coyotes that have passed through. This trail is an obvious pull coming out so beginner hikers like myself will have to be dedicated to come out...but you can do it!!
