Easy trail, Great for young kids! We took our 2 and 5 year old. 5 year old walked the entire way and 2 year old was only carried for some of the narrow parts with steep drop offs on the side (much to his dismay).

One of my all-time favorite trails. It combines an easy warm up hike with incredible access to Deep Creek.

Super easy even in winter. Great hike for the kids. Stayed in Bryson City during Christmas this past year and did all the Deep Creek falls hikes.

Steep incline at the beginning, picturesque waterfalls, loved this hike!

Really enjoyed this hike. Ended up at 4 miles with parking and a detour to the cemetery, which we gave up on. Some uphill, but plenty of places to play in the water and stuff to see to keep it fun for a 6 and 7 year old.

We tried to go to the cemetery, but it was too far and a steep uphill walk. Plus, two returning hikers said they’d seen a bear.

perfect beginner hike, kid friendly. the incline might be a little tough for beginners without poles, but the incentive of a waterfall every mile is a pretty good motivator!

We were there the first week of July. Wide, well marked trail. There were lots of other people there for tubing, but not many hiking.

Primarily old logging roads and wide horse trails. The creek and waterfalls made for an enjoyable hike.

We saw lots of wild flowers in bloom this last week of April: jack-in-the-pulpit, trillium, bishop’s cap, showy orchis, foamflower, and more that I am still learning. Some trillium blooms are hidden under the trademark three leaves.

This was a great 1 hour hike with several waterfalls and bridges! The trail was not busy (in early March) and was well maintained throughout. The trail head area has ample parking and amenities (restrooms, picnic shelters, etc.). This hike is very convenient to the Bryson City area.

We came to Great Smokey to go up to Alum Cave and Chimney Tops but 441 through the Park was closed. Per the Ranger’s recommendation, we headed to the Deep Creek area and it was incredible. The frozen waterfalls are so unique and I would definitely recommend this as a moderate winter hike.

The deep creek horse trail part of the hike is not interesting, just a wide path up and down the hill. Waterfalls are very nice though, even when it has not been raining in almost a month like now, early October.
