Very easy hike, takes less than an hour & a half to complete. Best to park at the visitor center and use Exercise Trail. Nice raised walkway and cool suspension bridge. Trail follows alongside the river and campground where there’s a nice swimming spot. Dog and bike friendly.

If you staying at the campground and just start walking around to visit the Ranger Station or see the Church, all you have to do is walk/bike the front of the northslope and you will finish it all. Didn't realize that I had completed it all in couple of walkabouts while staying there. Nice walk, take the dog or bike see lots of others just doing the same.

This area is full of activities for the family. This is one of my favorite camping places(Davidson river campground/pisgah national forest). The camping loops are paved and equipped with fire rings and tent pads. There are 2 bath/shower houses on each loop and they are clean! The trout fishing is amazing and the trails range from easy to difficult. If you camp here and you have younger kids be sure to visit the fish hatchery and looking glass falls. Tubing is also available during summer months but water levels can be a bit low depending on rainfall. Firewood is for sale at the gate and the staff are super friendly. 5+ stars!!

Took the North Slope Trail loop located in the campgrounds for a nice little day hike. Has some nice elevation gain.
