HikingGreat!

This is a favorite of my families. We use to hike it after Thanksgiving every year. It's a great hike with awesome views.

Shaded walk. not worth the hike to the top as the view is obstructed by many trees.

COVID park hours open at 8 am and the park staff doesn’t like when you queue up to get into the park.

This trail was pretty strenuous for 20 minutes while climbing hill through the rocks but definitely worth the rock top view. I was considering it to be hard for more time and miles but it was moderate with stairs and paved way throughout . It was definitely crowded with people, dogs and childrens, if you are looking for a peaceful place this isn’t one. But I definitely enjoyed my hike as that wasn’t an issue for me.

Decent if you’re looking for a little workout but hiking?... go somewhere else. Too crowded, dog poop all over the place, trash all over the place. The less steep gravel road is a longer route obviously, but also less crowded and therefore more enjoyable to me. Be a responsible human being and clean up after yourself and your pets. That should go without saying but we are talking about Gastonia after all

This was my first attempt at hiking. After hiking this trail, I rushed home to order some trail runners and trekking poles. I love this mountain and will be back very soon.

I liked this trail a good bit. Lots of steps on the way up and some are steep but nothing too bad. Got a bit of a sweat but felt good at the top. Way down on the gravel road was okay and nothing really special but was more relaxing

Hiked it late Fall. The park service should really make an effort to rake all the leaves from the trail. (JK)

Well marked trails that are wide enough to avoid the intermittent poison ivy on the edges.

I prefer to start counter clockwise. The ascent is steeper and you have a long stretch of stairs that are unforgiving, but, the descent is on a paved road which is level.

Tough little hike, with a steep climb of stairs near the summit. My wife and son enjoyed. The view was cloudy, so not too much to see.

It was a very nice day hike. The trail was quite steep but it wasn’t a long hike. The view at the top was beautiful. The only issue I had a difficult time finding a place to park. There was a lot of people there.

Gravel road. Not our favorite hike. Completely foggy & rainy so no views from the top. Perhaps a nicer day would improve our opinion? At the summit, the trail goes essentially through the antenna farm... not well marked here.
