Great walk for all. Make sure you have bug spray. We hiked it in March on a cloudy day. It is easily accessed for all.

Very easy walk with chance to see plenty of wildlife. At sunset, the surrounding marsh turns unfairly gorgeous. Relish it.

It's a perfect local trail. As of this week they have had to take out a few raccoons for rabies so I suggest not bringing your dogs until it gets under control

Very easy trail, pretty scenery. Good for dogs on leashes, and when the weather is subpar it's not busy at all. It can get a little crowded on weekends and nice weather days.

We've done this walk several times and always enjoy the stroll through the marsh lands of NC. Well kept and the camp sites nearby are also well kept. Bring repellant but don't put it on unless you need it because depending on the wind direction, even in the summer, it might be unnecessary.

Not a bad place for a short day hike.
