I would not rate this hike as “easy” in any way shape or form. Lots of rocks to navigate. A few sets of small steep rock staircases. And by small, I mean not wide. Only one line or person up or down at a time. Going back out was even harsher. Falls are pretty though. Just know it is NOT EASY.

Easy..????!! Not for this Michigan gal.. it WAS beautiful, but you need to be part mountain goat...! The rocks, roots...AND the incline on the long way around return trip leaving the falls area.. had me wondering what I was thinking..! Glad I did it... ONCE!!!

Crabtree never disappoints. Beautiful falls with a great trail leading down. Just take your time with the roots and rocks, especially if it’s raining. Just a great hike!

Really enjoyed this trail with my family despite the steep rock stairs and steady incline back out the trail wasn’t too difficult

Moderate hike due some steep sections, did the A Loop. Beginning of trail is shorter way to falls which means steeper. Nice bench on trail at base of falls to sit-a-spell; had a little lunch then continued the loop. Trail follows the water; longer way out but easier imo. 7/30, BRP being repaired/repaved; gravel a good deal of the way with flagman holding traffic.

Great hike! Trail is in great shape and the waterfall is really cool. We left from the trailhead at 11am on a Thursday and there were a couple other groups hiking. By the time we finished two hours later the area was pretty crowded.

Such a beautiful trail. The waterfall is amazing but also a beautiful stream that you walk along. Wonderful way to spend the morning. I would say as a fairly out of shape person. This trail is quite doable. You’ll work up a nice sweat, (and might have to stop a little on the ascent) but you’ll feel accomplished..A steep decent, a heart pumping ascent, and lovely flat paths near the creek. It’s got a lot to offer. We did Loop A, which goes counterclockwise around the loop. You arrive at the falls fairly quickly but the rest of the trail does not disappoint. The initial part of the trail has you descending down some fairly steep paths to get to the falls. (Lots of rock stairs) But this is why I would recommend going counterclockwise. (I couldn’t imagine trying to climb UP those stairs.) After the falls, you take fairly steep ascent but with switchbacks and very little stairs. Once you’ve reached the peak. It’s a really nice hike back to the trail head.

Great payoff for a short hike ... even in the 20MPH winds today!

The falls were absolutely stunning and worth the hike. There had been recent rain so good flow for falls but wet trail. I wouldn't consider this easy because of the grade coming back out was only easy for very fit individuals. Also, you are walking on rocks and roots most of the way versus a level path. I just want older or less in shape hikers to no it is not real easy.

The trail was easy going in because it is all downhill. But coming out I thought it was more of a moderate hike. Didn't do the loop just the out and back. The trail was real wet in certain spots. It had rained the day before and the falls were beautiful with good flow. Wish they would move the parking back where it was.

Pretty simple trail. Went with my wife and two dogs and it was a breeze. There was a lady there with two kids hiking it around 3-4 years old and they all made it no problem. the loop from the parking lot usually takes you counter clockwise I recommend going clockwise. This will move the longer stint of the hike first and the reward of the falls will be that much sweeter.

Beautiful trail that is fairly evenly graded throughout the trail. Beautiful waterfall. Trail seems to be capable of washing out as there are some areas that have a small stream running through.

This is a very nice waterfall that is worth the short hike down to it. I would try to go a day or two after it has rained so that the water is flowing well.
